Mission Statement Governed By Administrative Hours Administrative Overview Agency Sites AMERICAN HEART ASSOCIATION - NEW MEXICO Search Terms (AIRS Taxonomy) Agency Services AMERICAN HEART ASSOCIATION DESCRIPTION HEART HEALTH - Heart Disease and Stroke Prevention Providesfree information through our call center, literature, publications and 24-hour access to our Internet site with education and information on risk factors and warning signs, patient and caregiver support programs, and proper emergency system response. Provides free educational programs ("Jump Rope for Heart") and ("Hoops for Heart") to physical education teachers in elementary and middle schools in Southern New Mexico. Classes emphasize exercise, a healthy diet, community service and the dangers of tobacco. A curriculum ("Heart Power") for use in all classes is also available, and informs youth of the signs of heart attack and stroke and teaches them what they should do to respond.
