Administrative Overview
The Southwest New Mexico Chapter of the American Red Cross is responsible for eight counties (Dona Ana, Luna, Hidalgo, Grant, Sierra, Lincoln, Otero, Chavez).  The organization is run by 8 paid staff members and 196 volunteers.

Mission Statement
The Southwest New Mexico Chapter of the American Red Cross helps people prevent, prepare for and respond to emergencies.  Additionally, the Red Cross provides for emergency communication between military and family members.

Disaster Relief Services

DESCRIPTION The Red Cross provides relief in emergencies throughout the world.
APPLICATION  Services are given to those experiencing disasters.

Education

DESCRIPTION The Red Cross provides CPR training, First Aid training, water safety training, community disaster education and instructor training at the Red Cross site or other sites.  Provides OSHA training to businesses.

The Red Cross provides training at the Red Cross sites as well as businesses, schools, recreation centers, and other authorized providers.

Emergency Communication for Active Duty Military

DESCRIPTION EMERGENCY COMMUNICATION FOR ACTIVE DUTY MILITARY- In case of family emergency, the Red Cross will verify details and contact the family members where he/she is stationed.  It will help to expedite speedy transportation when necessary.
ELIGIBILITY Must have family emergency and have family member in the military.
FEES No fee
HOURS 24 hours.
