Non-profit health care organization for families:  11 physicians, 4 physician assistants, 8 certified family practice nurses, 11 dentists, 5 hygienists, community workers, and social workers.  Eligibility information and "public charge" education for migrant workers.  7 clinic sites -- serves north Dona Ana County (Hatch and Las Cruces), Sierra Coutny (Truth or Consequences), Otero County (Alamogordo) & Luna County (Columbus and Deming).

From Las Cruces go north on I-25.  Take exit 41 and go left.  Turn right on Franklin.  Proceed to Hwy 187.  Take the right turn.  The Ben Archer Health Center is on the left. Transportation is available if needed.

COMMUNITY CLINICS

 
DESCRIPTION Works with community in holistic ways, serving needs of all residents, regardless of income. 

Services include: direct health care, dental services, eligibility and case management, outreach workers, education programs, preventive care, migrant issues, supportive services as needed.

Some sites provide more services than others.  For instance, Hatch, T or C, Deming, Columbus & Las Cruces provide mental health counseling, substance abuse counseling, Maternal & Child Health Program.  The Las Cruces site has the only full service pharmacy, other sites deliver pharmaceuticals.  T or C site provides Veterans contracted services.
HOURS Vary per site, call for information.
FEES Full or sliding fees, depending on income.  Insurance accepted.
APPLICATION Patient intake form/interview.
LANGUAGES English and Spanish, with brochures available in both as well.

LOCAL AUTOMOBILE TRANSPORTATION

AGE RANGE Children must be accompanied by an eligible adult.
DESCRIPTION Our modified routes system provides transportation to classes, trainings, employment  interviews, employment destinations, volunteer sites, day care destinations, career and human services appointments, substance abuse counseling, etc. Riders call at least 24 hours in advance to schedule a trip; a trip includes drop off and pick up from the destination to the pick up point. Regular service is provided to the Dona Ana Branch Community College in Las Cruces, the Life Skills Center in Anthony and Teamworks in Las Cruces.
ELIGIBILITY Must be a TANF (Temporary Aid to Needy Families) recipient, WTW (Welfare to Work) participant, receive food stamps, LiHeap benefits, or be below 150% of the poverty level, be a Housing Assistance participant or a Medicaid recipient.
FEES WTW and TANF participants ride free. Job Access and Reverse Commute (JARC) participants pay $1 for 0 to 30 miles, $1.25 for 31-60 miles. All other riders pay $1.50 for 0 to 30 miles, $1.75 for 31-60 miles.
HOURS  5:00 am - midnight
APPLICATION Register at Hatch office or send application to Hatch site with the driver.  Registration requires a photo ID and proof of income. Applicants who are applying based on participation in TANF or WTW must  submit a referral form from a New Mexico Works career advisor.
