Traveling south on I-25, exit at the Loman exit. On Main Street turn left, go down 2 lights take a left on El Paseo. At the first light (you will see Payless Shoe Store) take a left on Wyatt Drive. CAA is on the right side on the first block.

 HOME REHABILITATION/REPAIR - HOUSING SERVICES

AGE RANGE All ages.
DESCRIPTION This program assists with home rehabilitation or weatherization including minor repairs.  Use of leverage funds to help high priority needs for the elderly, disabled and small children.  Safety issues addressed: venting, stove and furnace repair.

THE EMERGENCY FOOD ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (TEFAP)

AGE RANGE All ages.
DESCRIPTION

Provides emergency food assistance for low income families, through The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP). Funding also comes from United Way and FEMA.

ELIGIBILITY Low income guidelines – Persons and households with income at or below 185% of the Federal Level of Poverty (FLP) according to USDA guidelines who live in New Mexico

APPLICATION Household will sign a self-declaration form that the income falls at or below the USDA guidelines.  Client must show proof of address and picture ID

TEEN PARENT PROGRAM 

AGE RANGE Adolescents
DESCRIPTION Residential & Non – residential services facility for teen moms and children. Must participate in vocational or educational programs. Staff assists in self-sufficiency skills, parenting, self-esteem, nutrition, goal-setting, life skills.
ELIGIBILITY Any parent up to age 21.

FAMILY RESOURCES PROGRAM

DESCRIPTION Emergency assistance for individuals or families in crisis.  Ongoing case management. Services include financial assistance for utilities.  Integrates community resources.

COVERING KIDS

DESCRIPTION This program assists in enrolling children from low income situations in

TRES MANOS

DESCRIPTION Tres Manos is a micro-enterprise & personal development program targeting low-income individuals & families interested in weaving. The goal of the program is self employment. Hand woven goods are sold through Tres Manos retail store. Tres Manos is headquartered in San Miguel. For more information call (505)233-1106.

CHILD AND ADULT CARE FOOD PROGRAM            

DESCRIPTION The Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) is a federally
funded program managed by New Mexico Department, Children Youth and Families through Community Action Agency of Southern New Mexico, Inc. (CAASNM). The program provides cash reimbursement to home day care providers who care for children in their home. This reimbursement is for the nutritious meals served to children and disabled adults by a child care provider.

HEALTHY COMMUNITIES ACCESS PROGRAM (HCAP)         

DESCRIPTION This program will provide a free Management Information System to Health Care Providers in Dona Ana County that will help determine if you or your family members are eligible for Medicaid, State Health Insurance, SSI, Indigent Health Care benefits and other programs that are available. Refer clients to appropriate health care programs, and assist with assigning patients into self managed care programs for chronic illness.
