MISSION STATEMENT
To work with people with limited resources in Southern New Mexico to
enhance their independence and quality of life.

minor repairs. Use of leverage funds to help high priority
needs for the elderly, disabled and small children. Safety

THE EMERGENCY FOOD ASSISTANCE
PROGRAM (TEFAP)

Provides emergency food assistance for low income
families, through The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP).
Funding also comes from United Way and FEMA. |

Low income guidelines – Persons and households
with income at or below 185% of the Federal Level of Poverty (FLP)
according to USDA guidelines who live in New Mexico |

CHILD AND ADULT CARE FOOD PROGRAM

DESCRIPTION |
The Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP)
is a federally
funded program managed by New Mexico Department, Children Youth
and Families through Community Action Agency of Southern New
Mexico, Inc. (CAASNM). The program provides cash reimbursement
to home day care providers who care for children in their home.
This reimbursement is for the nutritious meals served to
children and disabled adults by a child care provider. |

HEALTHY COMMUNITIES ACCESS PROGRAM (HCAP)

DESCRIPTION |
This program will provide a free Management
Information System to Health Care Providers in Dona Ana County
that will help determine if you or your family members are
eligible for Medicaid, State Health Insurance, SSI, Indigent
Health Care benefits and other programs that are available.
Refer clients to appropriate health care programs, and assist
with assigning patients into self managed care programs for
chronic illness. |
