Swimming Pool Task Force

Public Meeting : October 20, 2005

Attendees:  Attendees: Linda Phillips, Rose and Cory Burrows, Norma Webster, Jim White, Elsie Clark, Bobbi Landon, and Jane Greene

Bobbi Landon gave us a written history of the previous groups that worked on improving the swimming pool. She has newspaper articles as well. Linda will type up the history and get it out to everyone on the email list.

Bobbi Landon wrote a letter to Jackie Hall 5-6 weeks ago to take to the bank to release the previous group’s money to give to us. Linda will go see Jackie and see how that is progressing.

Elsie gave Jane $55 from T-shirt sales.

Structure Committee

Bill Baldwin will be our new advisor. Maureen Thomas might have architectural plans made before. Bobbi will try to find architect’s name.

Previously we wanted to go travel to see other pools in the state. We revised that plan to call instead. But if we use Jack Baker’s metal building plans we won’t even need to do that. There was some discussion about the weatherization on the inside for the wiring. We don’t want mold growing inside.

Jim White said BJ Miller was the contractor for the metal building the Church at the Butte put up. Jim White gave us on loan some solar information that was presented Jan 30,1986. He does want the info back after we have looked at it.

Once again we discussed building options and agreed that Jack Baker’s metal building would be our focus. We can get high and low end costs just by how much Plexiglas we use. Luann it is called.

Marketing Committee

Elsie discussed the County Fair and how much money was raised. $88 and $55 for T Shirt sales was turned in to Jane for deposit.

It was decided to make an appt to meet and greet the new City Manager. Linda will call for an appt and take Jane and Norma to visit with him to see if we can get the financial info from the pool costs for the past two years.

Next Meeting November 15th

NOTE:

Hello All Roof Us Volunteers,

Norma Webster, Jane Greene and I went to meet the new City Manager, Jaime Aguliera last week. Enclosing the pool was met with a positive response from the manager. He stated that enclosing the pool is on the city’s ICIP list for 07-08. Until that time we would be unable to ask for funds through Diane Hamilton until then. We could ask the city commissioners to place us on the ICIP list for 06-07 even though we would be farther down the list. However it would enable us to ask for funds at this time. Jane wrote two letters, one to this end and the other asking for the past two years of revenue and operating expenses for the Swimming pool. The city treasurer has responded to that letter. We will be on the agenda for the next City Commissioners Meeting November 14th to ask for the change of dates on the ICIP list.

So please come and show your support of the group at this next Commissioners Meeting.

Our next public meeting will be the next day, November 15th at the Computer lab on 4th Street. Please join us.
