| DESCRIPTION |
Asombro Institute for Science Education - Non-profit organization dedicated to improving scientific literacy by fostering an understanding of the Chihuahuan Desert. To achieve these goals, the Asombro Institute currently serves more than 13,000 K-12 students, teachers and other adults with hands-on, inquiry-based educational programs. Asombro Institute staff members are trained as both scientists and educators, allowing them to provide quality, age-appropriate programs focused on the scientific method. Some of the programs available are: Desert Science in the Classroom, Field Trips, Schoolyard Long-Term Ecological Research Program, Chihuahuan Desert Expo, Desert Science Teacher Workshop and Public Lectures.

The Asombro Institute for Science Education's Chihuahuan Desert Nature Park is open Tuesday - Saturday 7:00 am - 5:00 pm. There is no entrance fee but donations are accepted.
The Nature Park is located on Jornada Road, 6.4 miles north of Highway 70. Directions with map can be found on our website www.asombro.org.
Access outside open hours requires special written permission from the Asombro Institute. Please contact the Asombro Institute office (575-524-3334) for more information.
