Administrative Overview Desert Haven is a no-kill domestic animal refuge and the major project to the Sierra County Humane Society, a non profit animal welfare organization. It is staffed by volunteers and supported by local thrift shop. Desert Haven has small full hook-up RV Campground for visiting volunteers, work campers and RV'ing travelers. . The Refuge includes an Birdland & Animal House - several large aviaries, Cat Neighborhood and Dog Town. | WORK CAMPER PROGRAM | AGE RANGE | Adults only | | DESCRIPTION | Provides RV accommodations for "workampers" who assist with small construction projects, help care for animals and work at the nearby thrift store. Volunteers are provided with a large parking space for their RV. Spaces include full hook-ups with well water and 30/50 AMP power.
