Linda brought a variety of soft drinks and juice for people to bid on. Donations will be given to the Finance Committee. Linda Phillips reminded us about the need to keep track of, and report on, our "in kind" hours. Betsy Roberts will keep track of hours and report on them at our monthly meetings. Each regular meeting is two hours of "in kind" donation. Linda will print "sign in" sheets.
Finance Committee (Treasurer's Report.) Jane Greene said we have $100.00 in our bank account, $9.00 in cash and just received $ 7.08 in drink donations. Expenses can't be reimbursed unless there are receipts and a written documentation. Jane has Request Forms; when an expenses is approved it will encumber the funds.
The VFW will help our cause but we need to send a letter to them.

Re: sign for the Pool to be placed on Broadway. We will need State ok to put it on a highway (side streets are the City) We need to ask the City Manager to make a request to the Highway Commission in Deming.
Norma Webster asked us not to get locked into the "cheapest" structure. We could get something very nice. Future maintenance must be considered. We will contact some other places and ask how they like their structures. ie Alamogordo, Albuquerque, etc. Could NMSU do a feasibility study. We'll need to ask Destiny, she's attending NMSU.
There are prior plans and information in file at City Hall. Jane Greene will look at these.
Norma Webster asked about using Bullock's receipts for extra income. They have to be rolled and bundled with an adding machine tape attached. Marketing will look into this.
WE NEED JOB DESCRIPTIONS FROM EACH GROUP. There's no need to formalize. Just something simple to describe what you're doing.
Marcia Meister reported on T-shirts printed with our Logo. Her daughter can get them for $5.00, X-large would be more. Donna Sanchez suggested they be Large thru 4X in size. Small and Medium are always left-overs. Our Logo is printer ready and we wi0ll try to keep the printing local. What about bumper stickers?
The Solar Heating System at the pool needs to be "tweaked. Mick Marshall is following through on this. Mick is also checking with the NMSU people
Re: Lifeguard certification: We will apply to the City when we are ready.
Donna Sanchez said the City must follow the anti-donation clause and cannot use their funds to support this project unless it is a part of the City. Donna said the City Manager was impressed with our willingness. She warned against our being "confrontational" when we attend meetings. It won't help our cause. We need to be positive
